David and Rheba Michaud of Dover-Foxcroft are pleased to announce the graduation of their daughter, Jennifer Michaud-Finch, DO from the Cardiovascular Fellowship Program at Lahey Clinic in Massachusetts on June 20.
Jennifer is a 1994 graduate of Foxcroft Academy where her interest in the human body began. As a multi-sport athlete, Jennifer was intrigued by the physiologic adaptations of exercise on the human body. This led her to pursue her bachelor’s of science at Springfield College in Springfield, Mass. in the field of sports biology. She continued to run cross country, indoor and outdoor track while at college.

After graduation, she was accepted in the master’s of science program at Northeastern University in Boston where she successfully completed her clinical degree in exercise physiology. Jennifer continued her work as an exercise physiologist in Boston in the Department of Cardiology. The experience furthered her interest in the human heart and she subsequently enrolled in medical school at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Erie, Pa. During this time she continued to run, completing eight marathons including the Boston Marathon in 2000.
Upon earning her medical degree, Jennifer successfully completed her Internal Medicine internship and residency at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington, Mass. where she also was Chief Medical Resident from 2009 to 2010. She continued to pursue the goal of practicing cardiology and transitioned to heart failure research at Boston Medical Center where she was first author of two publications. She was accepted in the Cardiovascular Fellowship Program at Lahey Clinic in 2011.
During the three-year clinical fellowship, Jennifer had the pleasure of becoming a member of the American College of Cardiology Sports and Exercise Cardiology Council. Jennifer was elected as the Fellow in Training leadership member for the national council, where she developed an educational tool addressing the cardiovascular health of athletes.
Jennifer is married to Andrew Finch. They have two children, Drew, 13, and Emma, 6. They live in Newburyport, Mass. Andrew is a former USA National Team rower and continues to row today. Drew is an accomplished hockey player and skateboarder. Jennifer enjoys introducing Emma to the joy of running.
Jennifer continues to volunteer her time as a medical volunteer for the Boston Marathon where she has been a finish line physician for the past 10 years. It is in this setting that her love of running and passion of caring for athletes come together. Jennifer will continue to work for Lahey Healthcare System and to pursue her mission of protecting the athletes’ heart while doing sports cardiology research in Boston.
