STILL SOARING EAGLES — Mackenzie Beaudry is up to bat as the SeDoMoCha Eagles hosted the PCMS Pirates on May 12. SeDoMoCha earned a victory and defeated the Howland Cougars at home later in the week.
Starters in the infield for the Eagles were Kiara Prescott catching, Cailin Seavey on first, Kylie Dow on second, Hannah Sprecher at short, and McKenna Higgins on third. Starting in the outfield were Beaudry, Jordan Campbell and Jenna Anderson. Getting some time in the outfield for the Eagles were Olivia Wesley, Bre Jazowski, Cassidy Marsh and Hayley Grant. Other infielders for the Eagles were Abbey Ewer, Mariah Poulin and Lexi London.
The Eagle bats also continued to be hot at the plate with Beaudry and Prescott leading the way getting on base every time they came up to bat. Marsh and London contributed to the offense in the sixth with a double and a home run.
Later in the week the Howland Cougars came to town. Again Clukey pitched well only allowing three runs over six innings striking out 10 with no walks.
Head coach Chris Wesley only changed his starting infield slightly with Poulin starting at second and Campbell at shortstop. Adjustments in the outfield sent Sprecher to right and Jazowski to left. By the fifth inning Wesley got all the Eagles into the game. Beaudry took over the pitching circle in the seventh and pitched a scoreless inning striking out two.
Leading the offensive charge against the Cougars were Prescott, Beaudry, Clukey and Sprecher. Prescott led the way with a home run and four runs scored. Beaudry also homered and had three runs scored during the game. Sprecher and Clukey also powered the Eagles offense each with three runs scored.
On May 20 the Eagles were scheduled to host Greenville and then the team is set to take a short trip to Guilford on Friday the 23rd to face the Pirates at 4 p.m.
