Sangerville Forest Committee seeking help

SANGERVILLE — Now that the spring weather has arrived, volunteers are needed at the Sangerville Bean Hill Community Forest Woodlot to work on the tree plantings started in May 2013.
The little trees wintered pretty well, but need some “tender loving care” to help them get ready to start their second year in the woodlot.

Volunteers are needed to come out on Wednesday, May 28 at 5:30 p.m. to help upright the protective nets that fell over due to the wind, snow and ice.
Also, some trees planted last year didn’t get protectors because the committee ran out of time last spring. So volunteers are also needed to do a little bit of clearing around the small trees so that they can compete with (grow faster than) the surrounding vegetation.
