Dates set for ‘Feel Good Piscataquis!’ Community Conversations in Milo, Greenville and Guilford
What do you need to live a healthier life? What can we do as a community to help meet those needs? People of all ages — seniors, families with kids, teens — are invited to come share their ideas by attending one of three upcoming “Feel Good Piscataquis!” Community Conversations being held this month in Milo, Greenville and Guilford.
“Feel Good Piscataquis!” is being put on by the Piscataquis Regional YMCA and the Charlotte White Center. Last fall, both organizations received grants from the Maine Health Access Foundation (MeHAF) to help people in Piscataquis live healthier lives. Charlotte White received a “Thriving in Place Across the Continuum of Care” grant and the PRYMCA received a “Healthy Community” grant. The goal of both grants is to help the community identify its top health concerns and then come up with collaborative community projects to help solve those concerns. The solutions can be small – just big enough to make a difference.
Each Community Conversation runs from 6 to 8 p.m. and includes a short supper followed by fun activities and brainstorming to get the ideas about living healthy lives flowing. The sessions are planned for Tuesday, May 20 at Piscataquis Community High School in Guilford, Wednesday, May 21 at the Milo Town Hall and Tuesday, June 2 at the Greenville Consolidated School.
All the “Feel Good Piscataquis!” Community Conversations are free. Pre-registration is appreciated to help with space and food planning. To register, send an e-mail to Erin Callaway, Healthy Community project coordinator at e.callaway@prymca.org or call her at 343-0171. Please be sure to specify which of the three events you plan to attend. You can also join an event by going to the “Feel Good Piscataquis” Facebook page.
