The daughter-in-law of Bowerbank summer residents Bob and Janet Hall was recently visiting her parents in Long Beach, Calif. when they went to brunch on the Queen Mary, which has been “docked” in Long Beach for over four and a half decades. The Hall’s daughter-in-law was looking at the exhibits of memorabilia on the walls and found the pictured ticket. She was first drawn to the Dover-Foxcroft, Maine address, and then realized it was Barb Goodwin’s ticket from 1956. Goodwin was a teacher in Janet Hall’s elementary school in Williston Park, Long Island (before Goodwin moved to Dover-Foxcroft). Goodwin introduced Hall’s family to Sebec Lake in the early 1950s, encouraging her father to buy the family property in Bowerbank. Goodwin was a dear friend to Hall’s family and was known as “Aunt Barb” to the Hall’s children.
