Dorothy I. Moore

MOORE, Dorothy I., 79, Dover-Foxcroft, April 16, 2014. A  memorial service will be conducted 10 a.m., Tuesday, April 29 at the  Funeral Home. Arrangements are in the care of the Lary Funeral Home, Dover-Foxcroft.

    DOVER-FOXCROFT – Dorothy I. Moore, 79, wife of the late George H. Moore, died April 16, 2014, at her home. She was born April 24, 1934, in Presque Isle, the daughter of Elmer and Laura May (Henderson) Whittaker.
    Dot was a devoted mother and grandmother, always supporting her children and grandchildren in all aspects of their lives. She will be remembered by a very special best friend, Sonja Philbrook of Dover-Foxcroft.
    She is survived by two sons, George H. Moore, Jr. of Sebec, Rick Moore and partner, Sherry Hastings, of Dover-Foxcroft; two daughters, Deborah Heydorn and husband, Fred, and Cheryl Breton and husband, David, all of Dover-Foxcroft; eight grandchildren, Greg Niland and wife, Kyla, Kimberly Crowell and husband, Matt, Jonathan Niland and wife, Ashley, Daniel Moore, Abigail Moore, Jessica Simpson, Rick Moore Jr., and Jessie Breton; seven great-grandchildren, Kael and Kain Niland, Molly Burton, Jadyn and Haley Crowell, and Mason George Niland. She also leaves a brother, Frank Whittaker of Caribou.
    She was predeceased by a very special nephew, James McInnis.
    The family extends a very special thank you to Dr. Lesley Fernow, the many caregivers who selflessly gave their time, and to Care and Comfort.
    Friends may call 6-8 p.m., Monday, April 28, 2014, at the Lary Funeral Home, Dover-Foxcroft, where a memorial service will be conducted 10 a.m., Tuesday, April 29, with Rev. Chad Poland officiating. Condolences and memories may be expressed at www.laryfuneralhome.com.
