Kennedys being inducted into Maine Country Music Hall of Fame
On May 17 Ripley residents Joe and Nellie Kennedy, along with Lou Mathieu and Chris Fyfe, will be inducted as the 2014 class of the Maine Country Music Hall of Fame. The Kennedys mostly represent the bluegrass side of country music and they are proud to join a growing list of Maine bluegrassers such as Fred Pike, Sam Tidwell, Bob and Grace French, Ken Brooks, Perley Curtis, Al Hawkes and Jimmy Cox.
The Maine Country Music Hall of Fame is separate from all the Maine country music associations, the hall accepts nominations from all. Current hall of fame members vote based on a point system of different categories. The Maine Country Music Hall of Fame also includes the Hall of Fame Museum, located in Mechanic Falls.
Please join the Kennedys for their induction and to help them celebrate. They will be performing along with the other inductees and hall of famers. The ceremony will be at Le Club Calumet, 334 West River Road, in Augusta.
