S. Melba Warren

WARREN, S. Melba, 97, Dover-Foxcroft, March 29, 2014. A memorial service will be conducted 11 a.m., Saturday, April 5, at the Dover-Foxcroft Congregational Church. Arrangements are in the care of the Lary Funeral Home, Dover-Foxcroft.

PO-MelbaWarrenOB    DOVER-FOXCROFT – S. Melba Warren, 97, passed away March 29, 2014, at Hibbard Skilled Nursing Center in Dover-Foxcroft, ME.
    Melba was born Nov. 29, 1916, to Stanley E. and Maude (Bell) Merrill. She was a 1934 graduate of Foxcroft Academy. Melba married her sweetheart, George W. Warren, on Sept. 1, 1935. She loved him all her life until he passed away last year at the age of 100.
    Melba was a member of the Dover-Foxcroft Miosac Club and a long-time member of the Dover-Foxcroft Congregational Church. She worked several years as a dental assistant for Dr. Leo Robbins. She loved sewing, knitting and other handicrafts and especially loved her family.
    Melba and George wintered in Florida and returned in the summers to their beloved cottage on Sebec Lake. They enjoyed traveling which included trips to visit children and grandchildren, several cruises and a return to Australia and New Guinea where George was stationed in WWII.
    Melba is survived by daughters, Merrill Ann Clukey of Garland, and Julie Hey of Wichita, KS; grandchildren, Wendy Scarce and her husband, Rik, of Averill Park, NY; Brent Clukey and his wife, Diana, of Austin, TX; Sean Corcoran of New York City, NY, and Ryan Corcoran and his wife, Samantha, of Wichita, KS;  great-grandchildren, Brian Kobernuss and Olivia Bonesteel of NY, Paul and Bobby Clukey of Austin, TX, and Finn Corcoran of Wichita, KS; and a special friend of the family, Mick DeIeso of Dover-Foxcroft.
    She was predeceased by her husband of 77 years; parents; and sister and brother-in-law, Carmelita and Ernest Faulkner.
    A memorial service will be conducted 11 a.m., Saturday, April 5, 2014, at the Dover-Foxcroft Congregational Church, with Rev. Chad Poland officiating. Burial will be later in the spring at the family lot in the Dover Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, friends are asked to send donations to the Dover-Foxcroft Congregational Church, 828 W Main St., Dover-Foxcroft, ME, 04426 or the CHCS Home Health and Hospice, 1093 W Main St., Dover-Foxcroft, ME 04426.
