Panciera runs at New England championships

sp-pancieramug-dcX-po-7    University of Southern Maine junior Emily Panciera, a resident of Monson and 2011 graduate of Foxcroft Academy, ran at a pair of New England indoor track championships.
    During the New England Div. III Indoor Track Championship Feb. 21-22 at Springfield (Mass.) College, Panciera came in fourth in the 1,000 with a career-best time of 3 minutes, 3.4 seconds. She also ran the first leg of the Huskies’ 4×800 relay, which was fifth with a time of 9:38.63.

    Southern Maine scored 45 points at the meet to place sixth out of 28 teams.
    On March 1 Panciera was among athletes from New England Div. I, II and III schools taking part in the NEICAAA New England Championship at Boston University. Panciera placed 16th in the 800 prelims with a career-best time of 2:18.99
    The Huskies were tied for 30th place out of a field of 36 with two points.
