EAGER TO JUMP THE GUN

  Once again Brownville Jct. went to the dogs on the last Saturday in January during the Maine Highlands Sled Dog Club and town of Brownville’s annual Dog Days of Winter and KI and Beyond Sled Dog Races on Jan. 25.

Fifteen different teams of dogs and their human companions took off from the starting line at the end of Railroad Avenue to head out and back on 30- or 20-mile courses. The races were run by a number of volunteers, including the Brownville Snowmobile Club and the Piscataquis Amateur Radio Club with communications support for the event.
