RONCO, David H., 67, Raleigh, NC, January 14, 2014. A celebration of his life will be held Saturday, Jan. 25, at 3 p.m., at the Crossroads Fellowship Chapel, Raleigh, NC 27604.

PO-DavidRoncoOB    RALEIGH, NC – David H. Ronco passed into the arms of God on January 14, 2014, after a long illness. He was born Dec. 16, 1946. He will be remembered by many for his kind and gentle spirit and his constant service to others.
    David was a devoted husband and father and is very much missed by his wife, Dawn; his two sons, Benjamin, 30, and Jesse, 23, of Raleigh, NC. David will also be missed by his father, Reginald Ronco; and brother and sister-in-law, Tom and Jan Ronco of Abbot, ME; also brother and sister-in-law, Mark and Lisa Ronco of Missouri.
    He loved playing and recording music, sailing, renovating houses, smoking cigars and most of all, fixing things – especially for other people.
    David Ronco left a legacy in the state of North Carolina and the state of New Hampshire through his teaching and leadership in post-secondary education for automotive service. He developed degree programs at Durham Tech in North Carolina and Stratham Tech in New Hampshire, and he led curriculum development and improvement programs for the community college systems in both states. In addition, he was an accreditation team leader for NATEF (National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation) and a consulting curriculum developer and editor for Thomson Delmar Learning.
    The State Department of Transportation, Division of Air Quality, State Energy office and North Carolina Solar Center jointly awarded David North Carolina’s first-ever Individual Mobile Care Award for exemplary initiative in transportation emissions reductions.
    A celebration of David’s life will be held Saturday, January 25, at 3 p.m., at the Crossroads Fellowship Chapel on 2721 Millbrook Road in Raleigh, NC 27604.
