Meet the Edwards, Faust and Smith staff
Scott Edwards is the managing partner, and a founding partner of the firm. He has a BA in mathematics from the University of Maine, and an MS in accounting from Penn State University. Before starting EFS, Scott worked for Peat Marwick in the Portland and New York City offices; at Hershey Foods as the director of audit; and at Berry, Dunn, McNeil & Parker in Bangor as the audit manager. He is a past chairman of the New England Peer Review Board, and was previously a licensed stock broker. Scott specializes in technical auditing and accounting matters and peer reviews.

Al Faust is the senior tax principal, and a founding partner of EFS. He graduated from Northeastern University’s five year accounting program, and worked for Jordan & Jordan in Portland, and Berry, Dunn, McNeil & Parker in Bangor, before leaving to start EFS. Al specializes in individual and corporate taxation, personal financial planning, and estates and trusts.
Sue Edwards is in her 19th year with EFS, as the firm administrator. She has a BS in business administration from the University of Maine, and an AS in banking from Thomas College. Before joining EFS, Sue worked for several years in banking as an internal auditor, and as a licensed mutual fund representative. She specializes in internal audit controls and Sage 50 accounting software.
Mark Chellis is in his 18th year with EFS, and is the audit partner of the firm. He has a BS in accounting from the University of Southern Maine. Before joining EFS, Mark worked for Berry, Dunn, McNeil & Parker in Portland. He specializes in auditing, accounting, compilation, and reviews, and also has considerable experience with clergy taxation issues.

WELCOME ABOARD — Piscataquis Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Denise Buzzelli welcomes John Baiamonte, CPA, of Edwards, Faust and Smith. The Bangor accounting firm is one of the organization’s newest members.
Hilary Clark is in her ninth year as a staff accountant and IT consultant at EFS. She has a BA in Latin from the University of Maine, with a minor in history. Before joining EFS, she worked in banking and finance, at Fleet Bank, Bank of America, and Camden National Bank. Hilary specializes in individual taxation and gift, estate, and pension tax returns.
Eric Smith is in his sixth year as a staff accountant with EFS. He has a BS in business administration and an MS in accounting from the University of Maine. Before joining EFS, Eric worked as the principal examiner for the National Credit Union Administration. He is a Certified QuickBooks Advisor, and he specializes in HUD certification, nonprofit audits, and accounting solutions for small businesses.
Greg Edwards is in his fifth year as a staff accountant with EFS. He has a BS in business administration from the University of Maine. Before joining EFS, Greg worked as the business manager for a local environmental firm. He specializes in nonprofit audits and business sustainability.
John Baiamonte is in his fourth year as a staff accountant at EFS. He has a BS in accounting from the University of Maine, as well as a BA in criminal justice from the University of Alaska. Before joining EFS, John worked for the State of Alaska, conducting audits of internal records, and for the Alaska division of the IRS. John specializes in tax and accounting services for individuals and small businesses.
Lily Dalton is in her second year as a staff accountant at EFS. She has a BS in mathematics from California Polytechnic, an MS in mathematics from San Jose State, and received a Post Baccalaureate Certificate in accounting from the University of Maine. Lily worked as a consultant for two of the Big Four accounting firms, and as a researcher for Carnegie Mellon. Lily specializes in personal and corporate taxation, and brings considerable experience to technology and startup businesses.
