Alice B. Richardson
DOVER-FOXCROFT – Alice B. Richardson, beloved wife of William D. Richardson, completed her circle of life on January 6, 2014, surrounded by her loving family. Alice was born on September 10, 1939, the daughter of Francis and Phebe (Rideout) Bickmore.
Alice graduated from Foxcroft Academy in 1957 and graduated from Maine Medical School of Nursing in 1960. Alice was well known and loved in Dover-Foxcroft and the surrounding communities because of her many years as a nurse at Mayo Memorial Hospital where she was also Director of Nursing for a period of time. Alice is remembered by many as Dr. Lightbody’s and Dr. Larrabee’s nurse in Guilford. She also worked at Hibbard Nursing Home. In her retirement, Alice lovingly cared for her grandchildren.
In addition to her husband of 53 years, Alice leaves behind a loving family legacy in her three children (The 3 K’s) and their spouses, Kim Thayer and her husband, Dave, Kelly Hutchinson and her husband, Brett, and Ken Richardson and his wife, Pam. She will be missed by her grandchildren and their families, Amanda and Jared Clawson and their kids, Kieran Alice and Kirstin, Christopher and Nicole Hutchinson and their kids, Ella and Alice, Alex and Ashley Robinson and their kids, Natalie and Sam, Andrew Robinson and Sarah Swanson and their daughter, Amelia, Kate and Thomas Nichols and their kids, Lexi and Carter, Jason Richardson and Danielle Brewer, Kilee Hutchinson, Danielle and Andy Koncinsky, Emily Hutchinson and her son, Jeremii and Chase Hutchinson and Addie Rayfield who Alice thought of as a grandchild. There are also two babies waiting to be welcomed into the family and with Alice’s uncanny knack for knowing, she has predicted that they will both be girls! Alice is also survived by many brothers- and sisters-in-law as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents and by her two brothers, Loren Bickmore and Francis Bickmore, Jr.
Alice’s family would like to thank the staff at Hibbard Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for the loving care that they provided to Alice during her stay.
Early morning thoughts, “Lord, Thanks for letting me have Alice for a wonderful 50+ years. Take good care of her. She’s an angel already.”
