Dexter boys edge Stearns, 53-51
DEXTER — The Dexter Tigers improved to 4-1 after Friday night’s close victory over Stearns, 53-51.
Dexter fell behind 26-22 at halftime before tying the contest at the end of the third quarter at 40-all. The game-clincher came on a lay-up by Matt Bartlett with 16 seconds remaining in the contest.
Three Tigers scored in double figures to pace the leaders: Trevor Fogarty (17 points), Ethyn Gould (14) and Bailey Spack (13). Bartlett added seven points for Dexter. Fogarty also had 16 rebounds for the Tigers.
Seth Brown and Marc Morneault led Stearns (1-4) with 14 points each.
Dexter’s next game is a road contest at Bucksport on Friday, Jan. 3.
