Diane Perkins, a resident of Milo seated with Kay Sinclair of Brownville and a fellow members of the Joseph P. Chaisson Unit 41 American Legion Auxiliary in Milo, has been knitting mittens since January so every school child in Milo will have a pair.

Perkins has completed 320 pair, or 640 mittens, and she will be presenting them to the school before the Christmas break. Perkins is now working on mittens for all the Brownville students. She brought the mittens to the Dec. 4 Auxiliary meeting to show everyone what she has been working on for the past 11 months and how the yarn many of the ladies have donated for her project has been used.
