SeDoMoCha X-C girls run at league championship
CORINTH — The girls cross country team at SeDoMoCha Middle School took part in the 2013 Penobscot Valley Middle School Cross Country championship Oct. 10 at Central High School. The Eagles finished with a score of 207 points to place sixth out of nine teams.
SeDoMoCha’s first runner to cross the finish line on the 1.9-mile course was Rebecca Thomas. Thomas had a time of 13 minutes, 21.49 seconds to finish 21st out of 132 runners. A few seconds after Sadie Avellar completed the 1.9 miles in 13:26.79 to finish 25th and Kaitlynn Johnson placed 28th in 13:31.19.
The rest of the Eagles were Miranda Kerr, 58th at 14:39.49; Virginia Macomber, 75th at 15:27.74; Kaylee Durgin, 98th at 17:05.19; Becky Fishburn-Batey, 104th at 17:48.57; and Cassie Chambers, 116th at 18:52.57.
The girls’ winner was Eliza Broughton of Ellsworth Middle School in 11:27.
Ellsworth won the girls team title with 43 points, with Reeds Brook Middle School of Hampden second at 85 points and Brewer Middle School in third palce with a score 89 points.
