GUILFORD – Bertha M. Turner, 99, died September 29, 2013, at Hibbard Nursing Home in Dover-Foxcroft. She was born May 16, 1914, in Lowell, daughter of Rufus and Dora (Hodgkins) Bunker.
She was a member of the OES in Sangerville, the American Legion Auxiliary in Sangerville, the Guilford United Methodist Church, and the Senior Citizens in Brownville Junction.
She is survived by three sons, Owen Campbell of Sangerville, Orman Campbell of St. James, MO, and Elgin Turner of Southbury, CT, two daughters, Gloria Grant and Regina Jackson, both of Sangerville; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Hilburn Bunker of Coopers Mills, and Eldon Bunker of CA; three sisters, Frances Simmons of Richmond, Ruth Creamer of Bath, and Christine Hyson of Damariscotta; several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Frank E. Turner; her first husband, Daniel L. Campbell; four sons, Norman Campbell, Richard Campbell, Donald Campbell, and Galen Campbell; a daughter, Patricia Waterhouse; three sisters, Glenna Batchelder, Delores York and Delphine Curtis; three brothers, John Bunker, Rufus Bunker, and Sanford Bunker.
A memorial service will be held 10 a.m., Friday, October 4, 2013, at the Guilford United Methodist Church with Pastor Reeni Cipullo officiating. Burial will be at a later date, at the Maine Memorial Veterans Cemetery in Augusta. Those who wish may make donations in her memory to the Guilford United Methodist Church, P.O.
