FA X-C runs at Old Town Invitational

    OLD TOWN — The Foxcroft Academy cross country team took part in the 64th annual Old Town Sectional Invitational on Sept. 28.

    The Pony boys finished ninth in the team standings with a score of 225 points. The team’s top runner was sophomore Gabe Piquette who covered the 3.05 miles in 19 minutes, 56.36 seconds to place 35th out of 61 entrants.
    The rest of the Foxcroft field was comprised of junior Noah Simpson, 36th at 19:58.09; sophomore Yun-Ting Tsai, 49th at 21:16.11; freshman Taylor Smith, 57th at 23:23.17; and freshman Ethan Poland, 59th at 26:01.55.
    The boys’ individual winner was Orono senior James O’Neil in 17:42.94. John Bapst finished in first place with 53 points, followed by Orono’s 69 and 76 for Mount Desert Island.
    Three Foxcroft girls ran at Old Town. Senior Clara Stephens placed 39th out of 60 with a time of 24:15.68. Sophomore Jenny Clawson was 42nd at 25:03.31 and 56th was junior Ana Sedlackhova at 27:55.89.
    In first place was senior Carysn Koch of Washburn with a time of 19:55.24. MDI won the girls’ meet with 28 points, followed by 83 for Washburn and Orono’s 88.
