Piscataquis Regional YMCA receives a $8,000 Plum Creek Foundation grant

    GREENVILLE — The Plum Creek Foundation recently awarded the Piscataquis Regional YMCA an $8,000 grant to help fund the organization’s 25th anniversary pool renovations.
    According to Deb Boyd, executive director, the pool at the Piscataquis Regional YMCA is the only professional pool in the county and is in need of renovations. “Our pool has served as a resource for community members of all ages for the past 25 years,” Boyd said. “It is now in need of renovations and with the help of the Plum Creek Foundation, we can ensure that community members can enjoy the pool for years to come”.

    In addition to hosting swim lessons, the PRYMCA pool is utilized by seniors with physical limitations, family members during free swim, competitive swimming clubs and children with disabilities as part of the therapeutic pool. The grant will go towards necessary upgrades and renovations.

    The mission of the Plum Creek Foundation is to provide philanthropic contributions to support and improve the general welfare of life in the communities that Plum Creek serves.
