County Democrats’ food drive benefits Harmony Cares Food Cupboard

Piscataquis County Democrats held their food drive on March 26 to benefit the Harmony Cares Food Cupboard. This food cupboard provides for residents in adjoining communities and as far away as Bangor.

Food insecurity continues to be a huge challenge for many families. We feel it is imperative to continue to support area food cupboards to address the needs of hunger. Since last February, we have donated $3,250 to local food cupboards plus an abundance of food and household needs.

This month’s food items plus a check for $250 were delivered to Harmony and presented to Tom

Reed and Mindy Guise from Harmony Cares Food Cupboard. They relayed that everything will be well utilized and is much appreciated!

Next month’s food drive will benefit Ukraine where their people continue to struggle and are desperate for food supplies. We will be soliciting monetary funds which will all be sent to organizations such as World Central Kitchen to help feed the millions of refugees. Please send checks to PCDC 25 North Street Dover-Foxcroft c/o Service committee (Ukraine) or https://secure.actblue.com/donate/pcdcservice. Thanks for your support.
