Dover-Foxcroft Historical Society presentation Jan. 26

DOVER-FOXCROFT – The Dover-Foxcroft Historical Society, in conjunction with “Maine Speaks” and the Center Theatre, invites folks to an event featuring author Jo Radner. She will be  answering the question “Whatever did New Englanders do on long winter evenings before cable, satellite, and the Internet?”

Community members, male and female, would compose and read aloud homegrown, handwritten literary “newspapers” full of keen verbal wit. Radner shares discoveries from her forthcoming book about hundreds of these “newspapers” and when possible, provides examples from villages in our region.

This event will take place on Wednesday evening, Jan. 26 from 7-8 p.m. A gathering will be held at the Center Theatre and there will also be access through Zoom. Please join us for this fun break to a long winter. The Zoom link can be found on the Facebook page of the Society and on their website www.dover-foxcrofthistoricalsociety.org.
