Trunk or Treat at Holy Family Parish delights community

GREENVILLE — Fr. Aaron Damboise, pastor of Holy Family Parish in Greenville, personally greeted the nearly 100 families who participated in an event that has become an annual labor of love for the parish and a must-visit spectacle for the community.

The Moosehead Lake Knights of Columbus Council #2368 hosted “Trunk or Treat” in the parking lot of Holy Family Church, on Pritham Avenue, on Halloween night.

“Fr. Aaron greeted every car with a Halloween bag to gather their treats as they drove through,” said Bette DiAngelo, administrative assistant at the parish.

TRUNK OR TREAT — The Moosehead Lake Knights of Columbus Council #2368 hosted the annual Trunk or Treat in the Holy Family Church parking lot in Greenville on Halloween night.

After the children had their bags in hand, each car moved through a path of trunks and Halloween-themed exhibitions to collect candy, ending their journey by receiving cups of ice cream donated by the Dairy Bar in Greenville.

“It was a wonderful community event with collaboration between the church, the school helping with traffic flow, and the town providing a police presence to make it ‘spooktacular!’” said Bette. “In this very unsettling time, it provided a little socially distanced and masked normalcy for everyone.”
