BANGOR — The boys and girls outdoor track & field teams from Dexter Regional High School both finished the day in third place at a Penobscot Valley Conference meet hosted by Bangor High School at Cameron Stadium on May 9.

OLD TOWN — The Penquis Valley High School outdoor track & field team took part in a Penobscot Valley Conference meet at Old Town High School on May 9.

ELLSWORTH — The Piscataquis Community High School girls outdoor track & field team scored 43 points to place third among a field of four schools at a Penobscot Valley Conference meet at Ellsworth High School on May 8.

NEWPORT — The Piscataquis Community Middle School, Ridge View Community School and SeDoMoCha Middle School outdoor track & field teams all took part in an Eastern Maine Middle School Track League meet on May 7 at Nokomis Regional High School.

MILO — The Dexter Regional High School softball team broke open a 4-0 lead at Penquis Valley High School with five runs in both the fourth and fifth innings to top the Patriots 14-0 in five innings during a Class C North contest on Monday afternoon.

NEWPORT — The area’s three middle school track teams began the 2025 with a meet at Nokomis Regional High School on April 29.

DOVER-FOXCROFT — The Kiwanis Club of Dover-Foxcroft held its 51st annual Piscataquis River Race on the morning of Saturday, April 26 with paddlers braving rain and chilly temperatures to travel approximately 9.

Three Rivers Kiwanis’ annual Sebec River Canoe and Kayak Race will be held on Saturday, May 10.

OLD TOWN — Penquis Valley High School’s Jareth Williams had the fastest time of the competition in the 100 meters as the Patriot outdoor track & field team opened the 2025 season at a Penobscot Valley Conference meet April 25 at Old Town High School.

BREWER — The Dexter Regional High School and Piscataquis Community High School outdoor track & field teams opened the 2025 season with a Penobscot Valley Conference meet at the Brewer Community School on April 25.

Paddlers from across the region took part in the 2025 Kenduskeag Stream Canoe Race on Saturday, April 19, traveling about 16.
