7 years ago Women’s club annual high school art contest will be March 25 at Center Theatre This year’s General Federation of Women’s Clubs (GFWC)/Miosac Club high school art contest will be held in the lobby of Center Theatre, beginning at 1 p.m. on Sunday, March 25. Students from Foxcroft Academy, Greenville High School, the Penquis Valley School and Piscataquis Community High Schools have all been invited to participate again this year.

7 years ago January’s First Friday free movie will be ‘Age of Stupid’ It may be hard to believe but Dexter Dover Area Towns in Transition (DDATT) was started a little more than eight years ago, a few local people concerned about climate change and how its effects might impact the area. The fledgling group began to occasionally screen films on various aspects of the subject at the town hall and then the Abbott Memorial Library in Dexter, which became popular enough to warrant a monthly public meeting, dubbed the First Friday Free Film and Discussion.
