GREENVILLE — The Greenville Planning Board has been busy working on several ordinances to get these ready for a vote at the annual town meeting on Monday, June 3.

DOVER-FOXCROFT — The construction process to move the Piscataquis County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch Center from the cramped conditions of the Piscataquis County Jail in Dover-Foxcroft into the administrative unit of the sheriff’s office on the first floor of the same larger building is underway.

DEXTER — Before 2023 Dexter and other Maine communities had been able to keep net proceeds from sales of tax-acquired properties that exceeded the amount of taxes owed by the property owner.

MILO — With the municipal audit awaiting completion, over a dozen articles on the warrant for the 2024 annual meeting were not voted on by the two dozen residents gathered in the Ed Wingler Auditorium upstairs at the Milo Town Hall on the evening of March 11.

GUILFORD — This spring Greenville High School and Piscataquis Community High School will combine for a cooperative softball team, with players from SAD 4 traveling north on Route 15 for practices and home games in which they will wear the Lakers uniform to compete in Class D South.

BOWERBANK — Every five years the town of Bowerbank celebrates the community of 100-plus citizens and more seasonal residents on the shores of Sebec Lake with a celebration.

DOVER-FOXCROFT — At times it can be challenging to find volunteers willing to serve on various municipal committees.

GREENVILLE — The number of visitors won’t be known for sure until the day of the event as those coming to the Moosehead Lake Region for the  total solar eclipse on Monday, April 8 could total in the thousands or tens of thousands.

MILO — Several months into the new year SAD 41 administrators are busy with budget preparations for the upcoming academic year.

MILO — A vehicle that would have replaced a more than 40-year-old ladder truck in the Milo Fire Department fleet will not be coming to Maine, the Milo Select Board learned from Fire Chief Matt Demers during a meeting on Tuesday, March 5.
