GREENVILLE — Here’s a quick summary on the 11th annual Moosehead Lake Togue Derby with Ricky Craven.

The Foxcroft Academy girls indoor track and field team finished eighth among a field of eight schools -- with no score -- at a Jan. 29 Penobscot Valley Conference/Eastern Maine Indoor Track League meet at the University of Maine.

The 12th annual Moosehead Lake Area 100-mile Wilderness Sled Dog Race scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 3 has been called off. Organizers drove the race trail over the weekend and determined that the recent warmer weather and rain have created trail conditions that are not safe for dogs and mushers.

Rep. Norman Higgins, I-Dover-Foxcroft, announced that the Maine Department of Transportation has included a major rehabilitation and paving project on Route 7 in its upcoming work schedule. The 4.13-mile section from the Shaw Road to Black Stream will be placed for bid on March 14.

I don't like waiting in lines. I have no gripe waiting a reasonable amount of time. Fifteen minutes; 20 minutes at the outside. Mostly, I don't like private or public entities acting as if my time doesn’t matter.
