GFWC/Miosac Club news

    DOVER-FOXCROFT — The GFWC/Miosac Club held its hobby night meeting at Thayer Parkway on April 2. President Betsey Ryan  welcomed members and called the meeting to order.
    Barb Austin led the Collect, American’s Creed and Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. Secretary and treasurer’s reports were read and accepted.

    Carol Kilpatrick announced that mulch will be in soon for the Marion Doore Park. Elaine Larson spoke about the Tueday, April 16 meeting and handed out Tastefully Simple catalogs, this will be a fundraising meeting.
    Barbara Glover reported on the Ice Out Contest. Tickets have been  turned in and now is the wait for the ice to go out. Members voted earlier to provide a lunch for the Senior Network. The date set  is April 18 and members volunteered to bring foods. 
    Under new business President Ryan reminded members of the District Meeting and Art Show Saturday, April 13 at Jeff’s Catering in Brewer. Many members plan to attend.
    Also announced at the April 2 meeting was Project Linus Blanket  Day to be held on Saturday, April 20 at the Penquis Higher Education Center in Dover-Foxcroft. from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
    Members brought some of their hobbies to share with others. Quilting, dolls, scrapbooking  and knitting were some of the hobbies shared.
    The next meeting will be a presentation on Tastefully Simple products, a fundraising project, to be held April 16.
    The meeting was adjourned and all in attendance enjoyed delicious refreshments that were prepared by Austin.
