March events at Thompson Free Library

DOVER-FOXCROFT — Got the winter blahs? Looking for something different to do? While we can’t predict the weather, March is forecast to be a busy, event-filled month at the Thompson Free Library , with informative and fun programs focusing on different topics and activities for all ages.

On Thursday, March 10, we kick off our Brown Bag Lunch Series with yoga instructor Becky Feaser of the Color of Life Studio. She will discuss the benefits of yoga and classes available. This ongoing series will feature a guest speaker on the second Thursday of each month from 12:30-1:30 p.m. at the library.

Maine author Tim Caverly (“Allagash Tails”) will screen the movie “Blizzards to Blossoms” set in Skowhegan during 1948-49 and filmed and narrated by photographer Henry W. Biggs at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, March 15.

It’s book sale time again: March 17-19 (Thursday-Saturday).

The Jim Brown Lecture Series, in partnership with Foxcroft Academy, returns on Tuesday, March 22 at 5 p.m. with Hank Lunn author of “German Prisoners of War in Maine From Foe to Friend” based on his own life experiences.

The first of a four-week science club for middle school students will be held on Saturday, March 26 from 10-11:30 a.m.

Don’t forget about two popular ongoing programs hosted by Librarian Michelle Fagan: Legos from 3:30-4:30 p.m. on the second and fourth Tuesday of the month and storytime every Thursday at 10:30 a.m.

Finally, tax time is upon us and we have 1040A, 1040, 1040EZ federal forms and instructions books, as well 1040ME state forms.
