North Berwick man killed in ATV crash

T1 R11 – A North Berwick man died in an ATV crash in a remote area of Piscataquis County on Aug. 15.

At approximately 2 p.m., Bruce Kennedy, 20 of North Berwick, was operating an ATV with a friend who was on a separate ATV near Wadleigh Pond when he failed to negotiate a curve in the road, lost control of the ATV he was driving and crashed. Kennedy passed away at the scene due to the injuries sustained in the crash. The initial investigation indicates speed was a factor in the crash. Kennedy was not wearing a helmet.

The Maine Warden Service was assisted with the crash by LifeFlight, Brownville Fire Department, Milo Fire Department, Piscataquis County Sheriff’s Office and the Maine Forest Service. Kennedy was transported to Lary Funeral Home in Dover-Foxcroft.
