Dover-Foxcroft Police Officers Warren Ackerman, second from left, and Adam LeProvost, second from right, were each presented with a Commendation for Valor by Town Manager Jack Clukey and Police Chief Dennis Dyer “for acts above and beyond the call of duty” in their response to what turned out to be a house fire on Pine Street shortly after 11 p.m. on Oct. 11.

Upon arriving on scene the officers discovered the 67-year-old male occupant had collapsed near the back door, and the two were able to force the door open and get the man out safely as the fire department and other first-responders arrived. The commendation certificates said Officers Ackerman and LeProvost “displayed the highest devotion to duty and demonstrates the Department’s finest traditions and level of excellence” and each officer “reflects honor to himself and the Department.” Chief Dyer also presented Officers Ackerman and LeProvost with a pin to wear on their uniforms.
