PRYMCA offering free healthy lunches and snacks

DOVER-FOXCROFT — For the fifth year, the Piscataquis Regional YMCA will be offering free healthy meals to all children 18 and under in the community. The program, administered through the Maine State Department of Education, is an opportunity to make sure the youth of our area get healthy meals and snacks this summer.

The PRYMCA will be offering a free healthy lunch from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and a free healthy snack from 3-3:30 p.m. every weekday from June 19 through Aug. 26 at the Y. Children do not have to be members or otherwise associated with the Y. The program is open to everyone in the community.
“Given the large population of kids who receive meals through the schools, this program helps everyone receive healthy meals all summer long,” said Executive Director Deb Boyd, “We couldn’t be more proud that the Y can continue to offer this service to our community.”  For more information on the summer lunch program, please call the Y at 564-7111.
The PRYMCA is a cause-driven organization that is committed to the community and dedicated to promoting healthy spirit, mind, and body for all, through programs and services grounded in Christian heritage and the core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.
