Dover-Foxcroft Kiwanis, RSU 68 launch Christmas Giving Program
DOVER-FOXCROFT — The Kiwanis Club of Dover-Foxcroft, in partnership with the staff of RSU 68, is pleased to announce the annual Christmas Giving Program, a community effort dedicated to providing gifts, warm clothing and holiday cheer to children and families in need throughout the Dover-Foxcroft area.
The program aims to ensure that every child can experience the joy and excitement of Christmas, regardless of financial circumstances. Through the generosity of local businesses, organizations and community members, the Kiwanis Club will collect monetary donations, toys, books, winter clothing and other gifts for distribution to eligible families this holiday season. In the past two years over 200 youth have been served each year.
“Christmas is a time of hope, kindness, and community,” Dennis Lyford, president of the Club, said. “Our Christmas Giving Program reflects the Kiwanis mission of serving children and strengthening our community. With the help of our neighbors, we can make a meaningful difference in the lives of local children and help create lasting holiday memories.”
Community members are encouraged to support the program through donations, sponsorships, or volunteer service. The Kiwanis Club is inviting local businesses, civic groups, churches and individuals to partner in this effort to ensure that no child in our community goes without a gift this Christmas. You can adopt a child and shop for them; the Club will provide a specific wish list of needs for each child. Volunteers are needed to help collect and organize the donations between Dec. 5 and Dec. 19. If you are interested in adopting a child you can email us at dfkiwanischarities@gmail.com.
This program is available for any children 18 years of age or younger who live in or attend school within RSU 68, including students educated at home. Information has been sent home through the schools with information on how to register children and is posted in public locations in the community. Parents and guardians of eligible children can register them at https://forms.gle/qnBijNBPAS2isaWC6.
