Center Theatre to screen Dolly Parton’s classic ‘9 to 5’

DOVER-FOXCROFT – The Center Theatre for the Performing Arts has announced a special screening of Dolly Parton’s classic comedy film “9 to 5” at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 14. A portion of ticket sales will be donated to Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library.

“9 to 5” follows three female office workers — a seasoned office manager who trained her boss but cannot get promoted, a befuddled newcomer and an alluring personal secretary (Dolly Parton) — who band together to seek revenge on their tyrannical boss. The hit film also stars Lily Tomlin, Jane Fonda and Dabney Coleman, and features the Academy Award-nominated title song written and performed by Parton.

“Disney just made ‘9 to 5’ available for theaters to play, and we are excited to bring this beloved film classic back to the big screen,” Patrick Myers, executive director of the Center Theatre, said. “Disney is donating their net proceeds from ticket sales to support Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, and we’ll have a donation bowl at the theatre for folks to make donations the night of the show.”

Admission to the screening is $5 per person. Tickets can be purchased online at www.centertheatre.org, by calling the box office at 207-564-8943, or by visiting in person at 20 East Main St. in Dover-Foxcroft.

The Center Theatre for the Performing Arts is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization celebrating its 20th year with a mission to engage and inspire by making arts, education and entertainment accessible to our rural communities.
