A cappella and strings to appear at Center Theatre Harvest Gala

DOVER-FOXCROFT – The Center Theatre for the Performing Arts announced that two varied groups will be performing at the annual Center Theatre Harvest Gala. The fundraising event begins at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 3 at Central Hall Commons, 152 East Main St. in Dover-Foxcroft.

The first group on the stage will be Some Reel People, an amazing group of talented local musicians who come together at community events to play folk, roots and bluegrass favorites. They’ll be followed by one of the premier a cappella groups from the University of Maine, UMaine Renaissance. 

“The Harvest Gala was originally conceived by past Center Theatre board member and long-time supporter Rusty Willette,” Patrick Myers, the Center Theatre’s executive director, said. “He wanted to create a celebratory event to highlight the theatre’s vital work in the community. I’m very much looking forward to this year’s event!” 

Fans of live music and supporters of the Center Theatre can purchase $15 tickets to enjoy the night’s entertainment or spend a little more for table seating and enjoy complimentary hors d’oeuvres, desserts and refreshments. A cash bar will also be available. Attendees are encouraged to wear their best flannel, enjoy the end of summer with friends and support the mission of the Center Theatre.

Tickets for table-seating and food are $30 per person, $50 per couple or $200 for a table of eight. Tickets can be purchased online at www.CenterTheatre.org, by calling the box office at 207-564-8943, or by visiting in person at 20 East Main St.
