Sebasticook Valley Federal Credit Union to host second annual paintball tournament to end hunger

GUILFORD — Sebasticook Valley Federal Credit Union will host its second annual paintball tournament on Saturday, Sept.26 at Flying Dutchman Paintball with proceeds benefiting the Maine Credit Unions’ Campaign for Ending Hunger.

The tournament begins at noon at Flying Dutchman Paintball, 73 Sebec Shore Road in Guilford. The event brings community members together for an afternoon of fun competition while raising funds to help address food insecurity in Maine. 

“We had such a great time bringing people together for our first paintball tournament last year, and we’re excited to do it again for a cause that is incredibly important to our credit union and the communities we serve,” event organizer and Sebasticook Valley FCU teller Sierra Robichaud said. “Every dollar raised through events like this helps us continue supporting organizations working to put food on the tables of Maine families.” 

Participants must be 18 or older. Basic gear and paintballs will be supplied, with additional rental gear and paintballs available for an added cost. Individual participation is $90, and team registration for groups of four to six players is $425, subject to availability. 

Community members and businesses can also support the fundraiser through sponsorship opportunities ranging from $50 to $500. 

All proceeds from the tournament will benefit the Maine Credit Unions’ Campaign for Ending Hunger. Sebasticook Valley FCU has a history of supporting the statewide initiative, raising funds throughout the year through events and other community efforts.
