Dexter Age Friendly hosts Five Wishes presentation

DEXTER — On Thursday, June 11, Colleen Grover will present Pine Tree Hospice’s Five Wishes program “Planning Now for Later … You do have choices” for Dexter Age Friendly.

Having conversations about our own or a loved one’s end of life choices can be difficult. Making plans in advance, when there is time to be mindful and thoughtful, can ease much of our stress and anxiety surrounding death, and remove the need for “second guessing” a loved one’s wishes at critical moments. Topics in this session include the elements of an advanced directive and ways to share our wishes: for treatment and care, disposition of finances and assets and funeral arrangements and memorials. 

A variety of resources for takeaway will be available as well as free copies of Five Wishes, a document that may serve as your own legal advanced directive. This program will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Town Council Chambers, 23 Main St.  Refreshments will be served. For more, call 207-924-7292.
