Three-session youth workshop on machine sewing

DOVER-FOXCROFT – University of Maine Cooperative Extension and Piscataquis 4-H will offer “Introduction to Machine Sewing,” a three-session workshop held from 10–11:30 a.m. on June 22 and 29 and July 6 at Central Hall Commons, 152 East Main St. The program is designed for youth ages 9 and older and parents are welcome to attend.

Participants will learn basic sewing machine operation and maintenance, practice sewing techniques and create a simple project suitable for exhibit at a local fair. The workshop is led by Rhonda Kirkpatrick. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own sewing machines if available; a limited number will be provided. Class size is limited to six machines and families may share equipment.
