Hadley for RSU 68 School Board
By Sean Hadley
Many residents may know me from my previous campaigns for selectman and from my three years of service on the county budget committee. I am now seeking election to the RSU 68 School Board to bring fiscal responsibility, accountability and practical reform to our school system. My priorities include addressing rising school budgets while improving efficiency in curriculum design, facilities and grounds management and staff allocation. Responsible stewardship of taxpayer resources must remain a central focus of school governance.
If elected, I will advocate for fairness in school athletics and the protection of girls’ sports under Title IX. I also support clear and consistent policies to address bullying and oppose mandates that place medical decision-making for students outside the authority of families, including masking and vaccination requirements.
I will work to review and improve curriculum content to ensure it remains focused on academic fundamentals, civic knowledge and practical life skills. I support removing ideological influence from curriculum and hiring practices and returning the focus to equal opportunity, hard work, merit, volunteerism and rewarding success. A strong educational system should teach students how to think critically, solve problems and adapt to challenges — skills essential for success in both their careers and everyday lives. I strongly support educational choice, including homeschooling and private schooling, recognizing that families should have the flexibility to choose the learning environment that best meets their children’s needs. As a school board member, I will represent all taxpayers and respect the diversity of educational preferences within our communities.
In this race, my opponent was appointed to fill a vacancy. I believe positions of this importance should be decided by voters. If elected, I will propose a town charter amendment to ensure future school board vacancies are filled through elections rather than appointments.
A vote for me is a vote for accountable leadership, fiscal discipline and a renewed focus on educational outcomes. While test scores and statistics are important indicators, true success is measured by whether students are prepared for meaningful work, responsible citizenship and productive lives.
I respectfully ask for your support in the June 9 municipal election. Together, we can build a stronger, more effective educational system that better serves students, families and taxpayers alike.
