Gudroe selected to attend Keller BLOOM Program at Bigelow Laboratory for Ocean Sciences
DEXTER — Adalea Gudroe, a student at Dexter Regional High School, has been selected to participate in the prestigious Keller BLOOM Program at Bigelow Laboratory for Ocean Sciences, a globally recognized independent research institute dedicated to advancing ocean science and education.
The Keller BLOOM Program provides talented high school students with the opportunity to explore marine science through hands-on research, mentorship and immersive learning experiences alongside leading scientists. During the program, students gain valuable exposure to cutting-edge oceanographic research and develop skills in scientific inquiry, collaboration and problem-solving.
Located in East Boothbay, Bigelow Laboratory for Ocean Sciences is internationally known for its innovative work in ocean health, climate science and marine ecosystems. Participation in the Keller BLOOM Program reflects each participant’s academic achievement, curiosity and commitment to learning. This considerable achievement is a reflection of an excellent application and recommendations; only 16 students from the entire state are chosen to participate in BLOOM and it is an honor to be selected.
The experience is expected to inspire future academic and career pursuits in STEM fields while giving students the chance to contribute to important conversations about the future of our oceans.
