County Democrats event benefits families in need
DOVER-FOXCROFT — Recently the Piscataquis County Democrats sponsored “Together in Community, United in Song” at the Commons in Dover-Foxcroft. Besides a time to enjoy music with community, this event was a fundraiser for the Piscataquis Regional Food Center and Helping Hands with Heart.
Both groups support struggling families. These groups have experienced drastic cuts to their budget with the present administration. With the high price of food, gas, heating oil, paying rent/mortgage and healthcare, many families live paycheck to paycheck. With an unexpected bill, it often results in being unable to cover the costs of the basic necessities of life. Both PRFC and HHH are there to support families going through crisis.

DONATION —- Kelly Sirimoglu, left executive director of the Piscataquis Regional Food Center, with Deb Dagnan, chair of Piscataquis County Democrats.
At the event, $1,000 plus an abundance of food items were raised to assist these families. This past week, $500 checks were delivered to each of these organizations along with the food donations to PRFC.
Since 2021 over $14,350 has been raised for families in need by the Piscataquis County Democrats, and it is crucial that this critical work continues as the economic situation worsens. Please support this effort by mailing a check to PCDC Box 133 Dover-Foxcroft c/o service committee or at https://secure.actblue.com/donate/pcdcservice. Thank you for your support!
