Matt Dunlap models values Christ calls us to live by

To the Editor;

As a pastor, gun owner, selectman and multi-generational Mainer, I believe 2026 calls us to decide what kind of people we want to be. We need leaders who truly represent their communities, not special interests. To me, Matt Dunlap is that leader, and he deserves our vote for Congress.

He is not simply the Democratic or Republican choice — he is the rural Maine choice. As former director of the Sportsman’s Alliance of Maine and a current NRA member, I trust Matt will stand firmly for my Second Amendment rights. He has also stood up to federal overreach and will fight to protect our Maine way of life.

When things get tough, Matt doesn’t run to Florida — he stays and does the work. He has lived here his whole life. He treats people with decency, listens before he speaks, and leads with respect. These aren’t just nice qualities, I believe they are exactly what’s been missing in Congress.

Scripture tells us that to love God, we must love our neighbor. I believe Matt models that principle — showing up, telling the truth, and treating people with dignity even when they disagree. To be honest: If we had more people like Matt in Congress, our country wouldn’t be so divided and dysfunctional.

If you’re tired of the noise and leaders who forget who they serve, it’s time to choose differently. Vote for Matt Dunlap for Congress. His character, experience, and dedication reflect the very best of Maine — and the values Christ calls us to live by.
