Community Fitness hosts Superhero Fitness Party to fight hunger

GUILFORD — Community Fitness is calling all heroes to action! On Saturday, April 4 at 2 p.m. join us for a Superhero Fitness Party fundraiser to support the Piscataquis Regional Food Center in their mission to conquer hunger in our community.

This high-energy, family-friendly event features multiple instructors taking turns leading short fitness and dance segments set to upbeat music. All ages and abilities are welcome — just come ready to move, have fun and embrace your inner superhero. Capes, masks and superhero attire are encouraged, but not required!

“Everyone can be a superhero, and everyone has the power to make a difference in the lives of those fighting food insecurity,” said Kelly Sirimoglu, executive director of Piscataquis Regional Food Center. “Through this event, our community can come together to fight hunger and help ensure families, elders and children in Piscataquis County have access to the food they need.”

“This is one of the ways our organization lives out its mission of serving the community,” explained Britney Gallagher, executive director of Friends of Community Fitness. “Supporting the Piscataquis Area Food Center is another way we help promote a healthier, stronger community.”

The event includes fun, short fitness and dance segments led by multiple instructors; high-energy music to keep hearts and spirits moving; a welcoming environment for all ages and abilities; and superhero attire encouraged to celebrate the power of community

Funds raised will directly benefit Piscataquis Regional Food Center, helping them provide meals, fresh produce and essential staples to hundreds of households in Piscataquis County who rely on their services each month.
