Hands-on shrub pruning workshop

DOVER-FOXCROFT — Join Piscataquis County Soil and Water Conservation District and Kate Garland from UMaine Cooperative Extension for an in-person pruning workshop that combines an indoor overview of best practices with outdoor, hands-on instruction.

Participants will learn practical pruning techniques for shrubs (hydrangeas, lilacs, etc.) while working directly with experienced instructors in a small-group setting. This workshop will be held on April 11  from 1-3 p.m. in Dover-Foxcroft. Registration is required and limited, so folks interested in attending must register at www.piscataquisswcd.org.

The session will begin at the Law Farm Outdoor Classroom with an overview of pruning principles, tools and safety considerations. The remainder of the program will take place outdoors, where participants will view a field demonstration and practice pruning techniques under guided instruction. Tools will be available to borrow and participants are encouraged not to purchase tools specifically for this class. Tool types and recommended features will be discussed during the session.

This program is hosted in collaboration with the University of Maine Cooperative Extension, an equal opportunity institution committed to nondiscrimination. If you need reasonable accommodation, please contact katherine.garland@maine.edu or 207.942.7396.

We hope to see you for this great hands-on workshop in April!
