YOUNG GARDENERS — On Feb. 25 22 BearCats, students of the SAD 41 elementary after-school program, enjoyed digging in the dirt with members from the Milo Garden Club. Visiting with the BearCats has become an eagerly anticipated tradition for the children and adults alike. This year Wendy Bailey, Danielle Bender and Jennifer Jay showed students how to plant lettuce and marigolds. The children were also given giant marigold and bush bean seeds to plant in their own gardens. In addition, a guide for planting and caring for their plants was given to each child. For more information about Milo Garden Club, please contact 207-943-2400. You need not be a resident of Milo to attend meetings or become a member.
