Inaugural Ski Plane Fly-In lands in Dover-Foxcroft on Saturday

DOVER-FOXCROFT — Winter aviation meets live music and local flavor at the first annual Ski Plane Fly-In, taking place Saturday, Jan. 31 at The Mill Inn + Café at 5 East Main St. in downtown Dover-Foxcroft.

Organized by local pilot Chris Arno, the Ski Plane Fly-In will bring ski-equipped aircraft to the area, offering a rare and exciting winter spectacle for aviation enthusiasts, families and community members alike. 

“This is a fun, family-friendly way to experience winter aviation up close. Come grab breakfast or lunch and enjoy the planes and music,” said Arno.

SKI PLANE FLY-IN — The inaugural Ski Plane Fly-In is set for Saturday morning at The Mill Inn + Café at 5 East Main St. in downtown Dover-Foxcroft. Organized by local pilot Chris Arno, the Ski Plane Fly-In will bring ski-equipped aircraft to the area, offering a rare and exciting winter spectacle for aviation enthusiasts, families and community members alike.

To celebrate the event, The Mill Inn + Café will offer extended hours, opening at 8 a.m. and remaining open until 2 p.m. with breakfast from 8-11 a.m. and lunch from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. A special lunch and latte features will be available.

Adding to the festivities, award-winning Maine singer-songwriter Josiah Dyer will perform live from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., providing a lively soundtrack during the peak of the Fly-In.

“This event celebrates Maine winter, local aviation, live music and downtown community all in one place,” said Angela Arno of The Mill Inn + Café. “We’re excited to welcome pilots, visitors and neighbors for what we hope becomes an annual tradition.”

The event is free and open to the public. Attendees are encouraged to dress warmly and arrive early for breakfast and prime viewing. Planes will be parked on the river alongside the rear parking lot.
