Free produce pop-up market returns to Greenville

GREENVILLE — Northern Light CA Dean Hospital, the University of Maine Cooperative Extension in Piscataquis County and Highland Area Gleaners invite the community to attend a free produce pop-up market on Wednesday, Aug. 20 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the gazebo in front of CA Dean Hospital, 364 Pritham Avenue in Greenville.

According to the Maine Shared Community Health Needs Assessment, nearly 17 percent of residents and 25 percent of youth in the region are food insecure. While individuals experiencing food insecurity were encouraged to attend, the markets were open to all. Attendees are asked to bring reusable bags to put their produce in, if available.

Food for the pop-up produce market is provided by the Piscataquis Regional Food Center of Dover-Foxcroft.
