Piscataquis Democrats reach giving milestone
DOVER-FOXCROFT — Four years ago in February 2021 the Piscataquis County Democrats committed to supporting the Piscataquis Regional Food Center to address hunger in our community. Early activities included food drives as well as fundraising events in order to provide food and monetary donations to multiple area food cupboards from Harmony to Greenville and Milo.
Piscataquis Democrats attended the recent “Cold Hands, Warm Hearts” luncheon as one of the sponsors supporting the Piscataquis Regional Food Center. At this event local Democrats reached a milestone with their gift of $1,000 bringing the total of their giving to $10,350 in the last four years. This is in addition to their donations of hundreds of food items during this timeframe.

PCDC Service Committee Co-Chair Andrea Thurlow stated, “We will continue our support of the Food Center …. times are difficult for families in Piscataquis County and local Democrats are here to help. We are grateful to everyone who has made a donation, purchased a raffle ticket at a local fair or a silent auction item at our Fall Fundraising Dinner. Our work continues.”
