Goulette throws at New England track championship

DURHAM, New Hampshire — Piscataquis Community High School sophomore Ava Goulette, the 2024 Class C champion in both the discus and shot put, took part in both events at the 77th New England Interscholastic Championship on June 8 at the University of New Hampshire’s Wildcat Stadium.

Goulette had a top throw measuring 112 feet, 9 inches in the discus to finish 12th among 36 entrants from all six New England states. She had the second-best performance among Maine’s discus throwers.

Goulette also came in 30th, among a field of 34, in the shot put with a throw measuring 30-09.25.
