Penquis track runs at Bangor

BANGOR — The Penquis Valley High School track team was in action at a Penobscot Valley Conference meet May 11 at Cameron Stadium. Both the Patriot boys and girls teams finished in sixth place.

The Patriot boys were sixth with a score of 20 points.

Sophomore Jareth Williams finished as the 100-meter runner-up with his time of 11.76 seconds. He also anchored the third-place 4×100 relay as juniors Lucas Chai and James Chenkin, freshman Donovan McEwen, and Williams combined for a time of 48.97 seconds.

Williams was also fifth in the triple jump at 38 feet, 4.25 inches.

Sophomore Ethan Lewis finished fourth in the 800 with his time of 2:22.27.

The Penquis girls tallied eight points to place eighth among eight teams.

Senior Addison Conkln had a fourth-place throw in the javelin at 84-01. Sophomore Brooklyn Decker was fifth in the event at 83-11.

The Patriots 4×100 relay team came in sixth at 59.43 seconds, the squad was comprised of senior Layla Chai, freshman Violet Chai, sophomore Caysie Moore, and Conklin.
