PCHS’ Goulette wins discus, shot put

BREWER — The Piscataquis Community High School track team took part in a Penobscot Valley Conference meet May 11 at the Brewer Community School. The Pirate girls finished the day with 49 points to place sixth among seven schools.

Pirate sophomore Ava Goulette had the top throws in both the discus and shot put. Goulette heaved the discus a distance of 106 feet, 9 inches. She had the best shot put throw at 34-05.50.

Goulette also came in fifth in the javelin at 81-07. She was part of fourth- to sixth-place finishes in the event for PCHS as sophomore Molly Goodwin came in fourth at 83-11 and freshman Olivia Goodwin was sixth at 70-04,

Sophomore Sadie Kelley won the 1,600 racewalk in a time of 9 minutes, 20.67 seconds. Freshman Taylor Herrick finished third in the event at 12:26.51.

Sophomore Jazmin Channon placed fourth in the 100 at 13.69 seconds. Senior Tiara Channon was sixth in the 200 with her time of 31.22 seconds and Olivia Goodwin came in sixth in the 800 at 3:11.78.

The PCHS boys were eighth among eight schools at Brewer with three points.

Senior Parkey Kelly had a fifth-place throw in the javelin at a distance of 105-10.

Freshman Donivan Boutilier was sixth in the 400 at 62.96 seconds.
